Old Stuff from Skip's Class

Dug up some stuff from my first class at SVA! Skip Sorvino's Basic Design. Oof, I didn't have the computer programs then. Hence the lack of them here.

"black and light" alphabet. drew letters and cut out the shadows from black paper, took photos with lamp light shining through.

yep, the chairman mao beer project. used coke for 'beer' in the mockup so is too dark and my crit was that this looks too much like bourbon. wonder if it would be okay if i used something lighter? the idea for the shape was a riff off the little red book. they'd be packaged like books on a shelf (sketch below):

The second idea is shown in the bottom half of the sketch. The label peels off as a sticker that people will end up plastering on subway poles/bathroom walls etc as a bit of guerrilla marketing.
