poster first pass

went through a lot of different ideas with FLASHWALK as the main focus and the text being pretty straightforward but eventually reverted to something similar to what I had been doing with the type specimen - playing more with the text and scaling down the title. i've still got a long ways to go, but wanted to throw this up as a concept. thinking about moving the details section to the bottom in a couple long lines and chaning the "FLASH" to a more simple font but maybe made up of white dots or something...we'll see...

oh, background: my friend matt created this not-for-profit organization called Flashwalk, that "enables unusual encounters with the city through collectively and spontaneously organized, unguided, undirected walks through New York City." The first walk is a 42-mile trek from brooklyn to staten island via new jersey. 4-5 boroughs, 3-6 bridges, and at least 2 states. Yeah. Insane ...and yet intriguing, right? More info at flashwalk.org.

For the rest of the poster series, other possible blurbs include:
"Walking transforms, especially more than 40 miles of it."

"A little physical draining is good for the urban soul."

"By walking with the simple idea of openness, great things will emerge"

Still waiting for the bolt of lighting idea but I'm excited about the topic and really want to do it justice. Think maybe I just need to stop thinking about it for a little while...
